📖 5-minute read
Self-compassion isn't self-pity or self-indulgence. It's speaking to yourself, in hard moments, the way you'd speak to a friend going through the same thing.
Three parts: kindness (warmth instead of criticism), common humanity (this is hard AND many people struggle with it), and mindfulness (noticing the pain without exaggerating or minimising).
It feels awkward at first — especially if you were taught that being hard on yourself is what makes you grow. It doesn't. Compassion is what makes people brave enough to try again.
