📖 5-minute read
Self-esteem isn't affirmations you repeat until you believe them. Most trauma survivors' minds reject affirmations — they feel like a lie. Real self-esteem is built by evidence.
You gather evidence in two ways. First: notice what you actually did today, however small. Second: notice what you're actually like — the qualities other people would name in you.
Over weeks and months, evidence stacks up. The story your mind tells about you starts to catch up with the reality of who you are and what you do.
