🔮 Fortune Telling

'I already know tomorrow will go badly.'

📖 5-minute read

Fortune telling is predicting a bad outcome as if it's already happened. 'I'll fail the interview.' 'They won't like me.' 'It'll be a disaster.'

The prediction feels like a fact — but it isn't. It's just a story about a future that hasn't happened yet. And often, believing the prediction shapes the behaviour that makes it more likely.

The skill is a two-step: name it as a prediction ('my mind is guessing the future'), then run a small experiment ('let me see what actually happens'). Evidence beats prediction, every time.
