When an urge is strong, your brain shows you a shiny short-term picture — relief, escape, revenge. Pros and Cons puts the other side on paper, so both are visible before you choose.
The trick is to write four boxes, not two: pros of acting on the urge, cons of acting, pros of NOT acting, cons of not acting. All four honest.
Read them back to yourself out loud if you can. Something changes when the full picture is in front of you — the urge stops running the show without your consent.
