Radical Acceptance is fully acknowledging reality as it is — the diagnosis, the loss, the fact that this happened to you. Not liking it. Not approving of it. Just stopping the war with the fact that it's true.
It's the opposite of denial and the opposite of forcing yourself to 'be fine.' It's a full-body recognition: this is what is. Even if I hate it. Even if it wasn't fair.
Radical Acceptance doesn't heal the wound — but it stops you spending your energy fighting reality, which frees you to actually respond to what's in front of you.
