A goal you never reach isn't ambition — it's a slow drip of failure evidence. Good CBT goals are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART).
The most common mistake: goals that are too big. 'Get fit' fails. 'Walk twice a week for 20 minutes for the next month' works. Small, boring, doable.
Break long goals into weekly steps, and weekly steps into daily actions. Celebrate the tiny wins — that's the fuel that keeps the whole thing going.
