When a thought locks in, it feels like the only reading of the situation. Alternative Thoughts is the practice of deliberately generating other plausible interpretations.
Rule: they don't have to feel true yet. You're just widening the field so your mind stops treating one story as fact. Even 'this is possible' is enough at first.
Aim for at least three alternatives. The third one often surprises you — it's usually the one your defended mind was hiding.
