Real gratitude practice isn't 'ignore the bad and think about the good'. It's training the mind to notice what's actually here — because the depressive filter deletes most of it.
The evidence-based version: three specific things, from the last 24 hours, that you're glad about. Specificity is the key. Not 'my family' — 'the way my dog leaned into me this morning.'
You don't need to feel grateful for hard things. You just need to notice the small, real, good things the mind was about to skip past.
