Progress in CBT isn't a straight line. Hard weeks come back. Old patterns show up. That's normal — it isn't a sign the work didn't take. It's a sign you're a human being living a real life.
A relapse prevention plan is written when you're doing okay, for when you're not. It includes: your early warning signs, the skills that most reliably help, the people you can reach out to, and one gentle sentence to your future struggling self.
Keep it somewhere you'll find it. Because when things dip, the mind hides everything that helps. A plan on paper is the way through.
