🌈 Understanding Emotions

Emotions are messengers — not enemies.

📖 5-minute read

Every emotion has a job. Fear tells you something is dangerous. Anger tells you a boundary was crossed. Sadness tells you something mattered. Even the ones you were taught to hide are trying to help.

An emotion has three parts: a body sensation, a thought, and an urge. Fear = tight chest + 'something's wrong' + urge to hide. Learning to notice all three lets you meet the emotion instead of being run by it.

You don't have to obey an emotion to honour it. Anger's message might be 'a boundary was crossed' — but the wise response often isn't shouting. Listen to the message. Choose the response.
