📖 5-minute read
A boundary is a limit you set on your own behaviour, not a rule you impose on someone else. 'I won't stay in conversations where I'm shouted at' is a boundary. 'You must not shout at me' is a rule you can't enforce.
Boundaries protect what you value: your energy, your safety, your time, your integrity. They aren't punishment — they're care for what matters to you.
The three parts: state the limit clearly. Say what you'll do if it's crossed. Follow through. The follow-through is what makes a boundary real — everything else is a hope.
