Leadership & Team Roles

Founder & Product Compliance Lead

Named owner: Jana Burkhardt, BA (Hons) Business Administration

Active

Qualifications

  • BA (Hons) Business Administration — University of Applied Sciences Erfurt, Germany
  • Certificate in Trauma-Informed Counselling — The Open University
  • Ongoing professional development in trauma-informed practice, safeguarding, wellbeing education, compliance, and digital platform governance

Jana Burkhardt is the Founder of Recovery Trauma™ and leads the platform’s vision, governance, compliance, safeguarding oversight, and strategic development.

Recovery Trauma™ was created from both professional experience and lived experience. Jana is a survivor of significant childhood and adult trauma and spent many years engaged in trauma recovery, including extensive therapy and personal development work in both Germany and the United Kingdom.

The idea for Recovery Trauma™ emerged from Jana’s own healing journey. While searching for support, she found that many resources were fragmented, difficult to access, or lacked a trauma-informed approach. She envisioned a platform where individuals could access educational resources, grounding tools, wellbeing exercises, therapist discovery, and supportive communities in one safe and accessible place.

In the early stages, Jana personally built and developed Recovery Trauma™ from the ground up. She created the social media presence, developed the website concept, designed the platform structure, coordinated app development, created educational content, built partnerships, and grew the Recovery Trauma™ community. What began as a personal vision for recovery evolved into a growing platform dedicated to helping others access trauma-informed support and wellbeing resources.

Important note

Jana does not provide therapy, counselling, psychotherapy, crisis intervention, or healthcare services through Recovery Trauma™.
