Safety and seeking support

Options that exist whether or not you are ready to leave.

  • Card 1

You do not have to be certain, ready or 'bad enough' to reach out. Specialist domestic abuse services support people who are still in relationships, unsure about them, or long out of them — including with safety planning, housing, legal information and emotional support.

  • Card 2

Practical things some people find helpful

    • Keeping a dated private record of incidents
    • Using a device the other person cannot access when seeking help
    • Telling one trusted person what is happening
    • Keeping copies of important documents somewhere safe
    • Having a plan for where you would go, even if you never use it
  • Card 3

Helplines, domestic abuse services and immediate support.
