Physical abuse includes any use of force or physical restriction — hitting, pushing, grabbing, blocking a doorway, throwing objects, driving dangerously, harming pets, or withholding food, medication or sleep. Behaviour that is minimised as 'not that bad' still counts, and often escalates over time.
If you are in immediate danger, please contact emergency services. Our Crisis Resources page lists domestic abuse helplines and support services.
