Digital abuse and monitoring
Phones, location sharing, accounts and constant contact.
Digital abuse uses technology to monitor, pressure or humiliate. It is often framed as closeness — 'we share everything' — while functioning as surveillance.
- Demanding passwords, or reading your messages and emails
- Location tracking, or requiring photo proof of where you are
- Expecting instant replies, with anger if you don't respond
- Posting, threatening to post, or sharing private images
- Controlling or impersonating you on your own accounts
- Installing apps or devices that monitor you
